Founded in 2005, Ping Wales operates a full waste management facility and Upper tier waste carrier service for the recycling of computer related equipment. It's service collects waste computers in Walsall, re-building newer equipment fore re-use and physically dismantling older equipment, recovering metals, plastics and glass for re-use in industry.

 

Employing highly skilled personnel, we're able to offer a full in-house service that is fully conversant in Waste Management, including the treatment of hazardous fractions. We issue our clients with transfer notes for both controlled and hazardous wastes and follow up with Part E certificates and a WEEE Disposal report. We have extensive knowledge in the destruction of confidential information and our facility operates both Binary Wiping and Mechanical destruction processes, issuing full certification at the end of the process.

The integrity of our service is based upon a level of trust that extends to our clients allowing us to remove confidential/sensitive materials from their premises. Hard Drives, CDs, DVDs, backup tapes, mobile Phones and Memory sticks all contain valuable information that require suitable diligence during the destruction process.

 

Once collected from your premises in Walsall, we'll transport your hardware to our facility, remove and segregate all data bearing devices and carry out their full destruction, documenting make, model and serial number of each hard drive. We'll either binary wipe or shred the drives and document this in our report. CDs, DVDs and Memory sticks are counted up and granulated, which quantities being noted on the certificate. Mobile Phones are asset tracked on the certificate, with IMEI and serial being noted before granulation. Backup tapes are cut in two, the tape itself is then granulated to 4mm, again quantities are recorded on the certificate, which upon completion, is issued to you by email.

Handling the Hazards:

We're a fully licensed waste management facility operator, meaning that we can do a number of things that exempt operators can't. Our personnel are Qualified through WAMITAB NVQ training courses and also hold Operator and Technical Competency certificates for the management of waste Electronics. As a result, we're allowed to carry out Granulating (Fragmentising), Shredding and Shearing of wastes in our facility. On top of all the above, we're licensed to handle and treat Hazardous Wastes which include: TFTs, CRTS, uninterruptible Power Supplies, Laptops, Flat bed Scanners and equipment manufactured in the 1980's.

 

We issue hazardous waste transfer notes for these units, documenting a clear route to recycling/ recovery that shows us as the final treatment facility.

Documentation & Evidence

We're aware of the need to provide some form of evidence that we've actually recycled your old computers and provide a number of documents that offer our clients a level of surety. At the point of collection, you'll be asked to counter sign a pre-prepared Controlled Waste Transfer note and where Hazardous wastes are present, a pre-prepared Hazardous Waste Transfer note. Once we've recycled your waste, we'll, issue you with a signed Part E certificate (located at the base of the Hazardous Waste note).

 

We also issue our clients with a WEEE disposal report that documents the weights of materials recovered from their old equipment and the number of units that were put back into use. These are all backed up with a covering letter documenting your legal requirements with regard to Hazardous Wastes and whether you need to register with the Environment Agency for a Premises code (Haz Waste Producers license). Where we've carried out the destruction of your data for you, we'll send out a data destruction certificate that includes a breakdown of all the media we've received and destroyed.
